Tattoos and Keloids
Keloid disorder is a genetic condition of the skin, whereby a triggering event such as a wound or cut, can result in the formation of keloids. I am often asked to comment on the safety of tattooing procedure in individuals who have already been diagnosed with a keloid. As can be seen below, the injury of tattooing process can indeed lead to keloid formation. Treatment of this type of keloid is extremely difficult. All those who have been diagnosed with keloid should avoid tattooing or piercing procedures.
