Psycho-Social Impact of Keloid Disorder:
Any chronic illness, especially chronic skin diseases have a negative impact on patients' quality of life. Keloid disorder is no exception. Keloid patients often experience significant psychological and social distress simply because their keloids are visible to the public, or they fear negative reactions from others who may see their keloids. This psychological stress results in increased levels of anxiety and depression and fear from being stigmatized.
Talking about one's keloids to strangers, or in front of a camera is not an easy task. In this section of our website, we post videos of brave patients who willing to share their experiences with you.
