Chest Keloids – Case Study 6 – Inflammatory Chest Keloids:
This 58-year-old Asian male presented to our practice with multiple inflammatory chest keloids. His first keloid developed at age of 19 and ever since he has been suffering from this condition. Prior to his visit with Dr. Tirgan, this gentleman had received numerous treatments over the years, including several steroid injections and had also undergone surgery. Images below show his chest keloid at the time of presentation in March 2019.
Dr. Tirgan chose to treat this gentleman’s chest keloids with intra-lesional chemotherapy on a regular basis. Over the next several months, all the keloid areas received several rounds of chemotherapy injections which led to a significant improvement in overall symptoms and appearance of these keloids. The follow up image from January 2020, shows the efficacy of intralesional chemotherapy in this setting.
