CASE STUDY 8 - POST C-SECTION KELOID
This depicts another post c-section keloid in an African American Female who had a c-section in 2007. About a year after the procedure, she noticed a keloid forming at that the site of surgery. This keloid was removed surgically in 2009, yet it regrew and by 2012 it became larger than the original keloid. In 2013 the keloid was removed during another c-section, yet it regrew again and within two years, it became quite thick and also symptomatic, causing itching, burning and discomfort.
She came to see Dr. Tirgan in September of 2017. The image below depicts the appearance of this keloid when she came in for consultation.
post c-section keloid
This keloid was treated with two rounds of cryotherapy, first in October 2017, and then in April 2018. The patient returned to our office in January 2020 for issues unrelated to this pubic keloid. The image below shows the treatment results that were achieved with two cycled of cryotherapy. The mass of this keloid was reduced by over 95% with just two courses of cryotherapy. The patient has been happy with the outcome, and was not concerned with the remnant of her pubic keloid. At this time, she was prescribed the R6 cream to apply to her pubic keloid twice a day.
