Tumoral Neck Keloid
This is a 26-year-old female with a tumoral keloid growth on her neck. This keloid first appeared at the age of 18. Prior to her visit with Dr Tirgan, this patient was advised to undergo surgery, yet she declined that approach of fear of worsening her keloid. She was self-referred to our office on January 8, 2015, for consideration of non-surgical treatment of this large neck keloid.
Neck keloids are often bulky and visible and near-impossible to hide. This keloid was treated with cryotherapy. The image below depicts the keloid immediately after the application of cryotherapy. The frozen keloid appears white.
Two months later
The image below was taken at her follow up visit, two months after the application of cryotherapy. The treated neck keloid has significantly reduced in size.
